Another strike before the year ends.
The year 2013 has been a fruitful year for Maragondon. We’ve been blessed with projects that would surely benefit our constituents.
Through the initiative of Mayor Rey A. Rillo, the Department of Trade and Industry granted the Kawayang Maragondon Rural Workers’ Association with machineries and equipments amounting to Three Million Three Hundred Forty Two Thousand Pesos(Php 3, 342,000.00) under the Shared Service Facilities Program. The assistance is primarily intended for the engineered bamboo project of Maragondon.
A formal launching ceremony was held on December 26, 2013 at Bamboo Training Center in Brgy. Layong Mabilog, Maragondon, Cavite. RD Marilou Q. Toledo, Regional Director of DTI Region IV-A graced the occasion. RD Toledo said that Maragondon got the highest funding assistance from DTI in Region IV-A considering the abundance of bamboo as raw resources and the municipality’s large potential of managing the bamboo production center.
Provincial Director Noly D. Guevarra of DTI-Cavite played a very significant role for the realization of the project. On his message, he calls for continuous hard work from the Kawayang Maragondon Rural Workers’ Association for the project to materialize.
Much to his delight, Mayor Rillo committed One Hundred Thousand Pesos as a starting capital for the association. “Our dreams are now within our reach,” the Municipal Mayor said. He believes that Maragondon will soon be recognize as a bamboo manufacturer with products that are of high quality which can compete in the local and world market. He also mentioned that this venture on bamboo will create alternative jobs for more people in need.
The launching ceremony was attended by Ka Rodring Camia(Chairman, Provincial Cooperative Development Council), Dr. Amelita P. Peñalba(District Supervisor) together with the principals and school administrators from the different elementary schools in Maragondon, Prof. Denise Abril(Campus Director, PUP-MC), Mrs. Estrellita M. De Vera(Principal, Cavite National Science High School), Mrs. Eugenia E. Agrimano(Principal, Pulo ni Sara National High School), SB Members Danilo C. Ramirez and Romel A. Manalo, ABC President Alberto C. Malimban, Mr. Agustin Causapin(President, Kawayang Maragondon Rural Workers’ Association) with the Board of Directors, Barangay Officials of Layong Mabilog headed by Chairman Rolando Angue and the Department Heads from the LGU.
Mrs. Marivic S. Contrano, the designated Municipal Livelihood Coordinator expressed her gratefulness to all those who have extended their support for the success of the project.
Sumptuous lunch was served after the ribbon cutting headed by Mayor Rillo and RD Toledo and benediction of Bamboo Production Center led by Pastor Ramon Advincula.
Mr. Victor Marasigan officiated the training proper on Bamboo Craft Production for all the members of the association and some residents within the area in the afternoon. Marasigan is the Vice President of KLT Fruits Inc., President of PhilExport Cavite Chapter, Chairman of First Cavite Industrial Estate and Private Sector Representative of CALABARZON Regional Development Council.
